Week 5 Update

We have had a chance to do some Science this week.  We joined with Room 4 to do this and the children enjoyed it.  They got to make circuits to make the lights glow.  There was lots of discussion using the language that we introduced - conductor, insulator, open and closed switch, circuit breaker.  They also drew circuits using the symbols for the items.  We also had a go with the Makey Makey's, where they got to make music or a game using circuits and coding together.

  

The children have been busy with their preparation for the show.  I have loved watching the progress each week and am looking forward to seeing them perform.  Please start getting their items that they need to provide as the time is creeping up fast for when these will be needed. 

Christmas Shoeboxes

Can we please start bring items to school for this.

About the Christmas Shoeboxes

This is something I have always been passionate about and have done at other schools.  I looking forward to doing the Christmas Shoeboxes with my class this year.  On Friday, we discussed why we do the shoeboxes and how the children who receive them must feel.

Suggestions for contents of the shoebox

If you would like to donate an item to go into the shoeboxes, we will have a box to put the items into in class.  Remember the box is only small and the items need to fit inside.  There is to be no food items (including sweets), liquid and items relating to war.  We will collect items over the next 2-3 weeks.
