Sunday 30 October 2022

Welcome to Week 3 of Term 4 already.  This week we start the activities for Year 6 with a retreat day.  We also welcome Caleb back. We are looking forward to having you in our class, Caleb.

Kia ora whanau,

We have a student returning to school on Monday who has had cancer.  He has been away since 2021.

His immunity has been compromised due to the treatment he has received and he is particularly susceptible to chickenpox and measles.  As he will be in our class, please we need to also be aware of stomach bugs and cold and flu symptoms.

Any cases of chickenpox or measles, in the school community, needs to be reported to the school office immediately to ensure his health is not compromised.

He is looking forward to coming back to school as are his friends.

What an awesome day on Friday. Thank you for the food you sent along to share with the grandparents. It was great to see so many grandparents. What I really enjoyed was that it was for the whole school and so our class got to show off their work to their grandparents as well. Other schools I have been at only did the grandparents for the junior classes.

We were also lucky to have Andrew Chinn with us for the day. The children loved his teaching and concert. They were both so interactive that most children got to take part in some way.

Colour Fun Run

We had a blast on Friday with the Colour Fun Run. (I think the teachers had more fun than the children).  It was a huge success as a fundraiser and with the enthusiasm from everyone.  It was great to hear the sound of laughter and see the smiles on everyones faces.  Check out the photos on the school Facebook page.

You are able to go online now and order the prizes.   This needs to be done by October 31st.  If you are having trouble with this please let me know and I will work with them to order their prize.  It is great seeing so many children opting to donate to Kidscan rather than choosing toys.  Prizes will be delivered to school.

Our feet have hit the ground running. Such a busy few days already. Thank you for getting your camp forms and athletics forms in. I will be in touch at the end of the week to let the camp parents know who are coming with us.  I have had a fantastic response and really appreciate it.

You may have noticed your child is wearing a watch.  From tomorrow we will be recording our steps competing in the Zespri Young and Healthy Virtual Adventure and we will travel the world.  As we record our steps, a video will be made with our Bitmoji and will visit different places around the world.  The watches are theirs to keep.

The Children have mad stamps in remembrance of Queen Elizabeth II.

 I am impressed.
