Midweek Week 10

A huge congratulations to the children of Room 3 with their production piece.  I was so proud of each and everyone of them.  It was great to see so many of our children being part of the main cast, including Taytum with her solo singing Sandra Dee.

Over the last week, we have been completing 2 puzzles with the class and today one of them was completed.  One child got so involved in doing the puzzle we thought it was right for him to put the last piece in.

Well the last day of the term is upon us and they have worked so hard this term, in class and other activities - (production, sports, chess) so they have earned a break.  Happy Holidays, and Safe Travels.

Please keep collecting sponsors for our fundraiser.

I will send an email with the information of the outstanding books  later on this week.

Overdue Library Books

I am doing a drive with the class to return as many library books they can.  I have a list of overdue books and some date back to 2019.  I will email details of books that are overdue to you on the weekend however, the children have been asked to look to see if they can find any.  I already have had 2 books returned that were borrowed back in 2020.

Some children have commented that their parents App is not working.  With the latest Apple update it may have caused some issues.  I have had to delete my App and reinstall.  This has fixed the issue.

I set a challenge to the class to collect 25 compliments.
The criteria was
  • must be a compliment for the whole class doing the right thing
  • unable to ask someone for a compliment
  • I had to hear the compliment

Congratulations

They did it!

They received all 25 compliments easily.  It really was not a difficult challenge for them as they are such a great class and do so well.  They received their reward today and they got to eat an American Hotdog.  They enjoyed them and of cause the manners were impeccable as they received their hotdogs.

Sunday 18 September 2022

Where has this term gone - Week 9 already.  The children have been great and I must admit it is so nice to see their faces.  As we have worn masks since the beginning of the year, seeing their smiles is few and far between.  I will continue to wear my mask until after Dominic's operation which is Friday and some children have chosen to continue to wear masks as well. One thing I did notice was the noise level.  With masks on we have all got use to talking a little louder, without masks we will need to practice using our quiet inside voices.

There is not much time to go until showtime.  A huge thank you to Mrs Trask and her hard work she has put into in preparing everyone for the show. Tickets are selling fast. If you still need to get tickets, please click on the link - Red Rocking Hood Tickets

Fantastic Fundraising

The effort and enthusiasm from students has been fantastic and we’ve had a great start to our big fundraiser for the year, as we were unable to hold a Gala Day.

Can your child come up with ideas to help them fundraise - chores, helping a neighbour in the garden, and I am sure there are many more ideas they can think of.

Please keep sharing your child's link

Go to schoolfunrun.co.nz, share your online fundraising link via SMS, Email and Social Media. If someone would like to sponsor your child and give them cash, they can do this.  Please take the money to the office, with your child's name and room number and we will be able to add the amount to their profile.

THANK YOU! For the support we have received from everyone.  It isn’t too late to make a profile for your child if you haven’t done one yet.
