This week we will be working on our speech for the Speech Competition.  We have been practicing with Impromptu Speeches and also writing speeches and sharing them with our class.  This has allowed the children to have a go and give feedback to each other.  They have enjoyed this.

Our topic for the speeches this year is:

Rotorua - My Backyard

Christmas Shoeboxes

This is something I have always been passionate about and have done at other schools.  I looking forward to doing the Christmas Shoeboxes with my class this year.  On Friday, we discussed why we do the shoeboxes and how the children who receive them must feel.

If you would like to donate an item to go into the shoeboxes, we will have a box to put the items into in class.  Remember the box is only small and the items need to fit inside.  There is to be no food items (including sweets), liquid and items relating to war.  We will collect items over the next 2-3 weeks.
