It has been a busy week already but I have to say, it is great to see the children back. I love seeing the smiles, hearing the laughter and listening to the chatter. I do miss this during the holidays. Thank you for encouraging the children to wear their mask at school.
We have started the week with making Manu Tukutuku (Maori Kites). The children have been working together, planning and building the kites. They have been so engaged with this learning. The discussions, the problem solving and the collaboration has been amazing. This is part of our introduction to Matariki which will be a focus for our learning this term. We also read the legend of Hatu Patu and the Bird Woman and based our kites on this.
